what are you doing for the 4th?

We are going to look at a condo for rent and someone is coming to look at our rental house today.  After that just a nice light dinner and then watching the Capitol Fourth on t.v.  Happy 4th of July to all.

Golf, followed by a cook-out with a mixture of friends and family. We'd orginally talked about a bonfire this evening, but since it's supposed to be in the mid 90's I doubt anyone will be too interested in a fire.

Happy 4th to you and all !  We are having a small group of adults ( 7 people) over for early dinner. DH is making his famous ribs, I make salmon teriyaki and a bunch of sides.

And yesterday I made a big jug of white sangria.

Later of course will watch tv, Capitol and the usual. Our flags are flying and we are wishing happy birthday to our wonderful country!

Re: what are you doing for the 4th?

@newname0  I'm living in a real covid hot zone so still pretty much complete isolation....BUT....today I get to see my Mom and Dad, even though it's at a distance.

They'll come out on the patio while I work my Dad's garden and we'll holler back and forth at each other. Funny, typing that out sounds super boring, but I'm really excited to see them. We've been limiting to once every 10 days or so, and it's been a while.

(mainly because my Dad forgets at times and tries to hug me and stuff, but it's not his fault). I'm just really trying hard for them not to get ill in any way.

So thank you for asking. I'm getting ready to leave in a bit and can't wait Smiley Happy

Hope you and your family have a great holiday weekend!

Re: what are you doing for the 4th?

We're staying home, just like every other day.  No big annual July 4th BBQ at our house this year.  Our friends and family are staying home too.  We're grilling steaks for supper.  Our neighborhood puts on a big fireworks display every year and we'll watch from our front porch - or stay inside and watch the July 4th specials on TV.   Whoopee.

Nothing, not feeling it at all.  I'm continuing my personal choice to do what I've done during the entire pandemic. The numbers in my state thankfully are very good, I pray that continues.

Going to finish watching Hamilton, probably watch it again. See what else is on Disney Plus. Read, get some cleaning done.

Think about my Mom and miss her. I do that every day, but holidays bring it out even more.

Happy 4th of July!!!  - It'll be a relaxed day.  We hung our flag and bunting, we're grilling, and I made homemade Oreo ice cream for dessert.  No fireworks where we live, so we'll be watching on tv.  Stay safe, and have a fabulous Independence Day!

Very little. Cleaning and prepping for Sunday.

Celebrating on the 5th. Going to DB & SIL's house with most of the fam for swimming and cookout.

@SANNA : I will also be making a big pitcher of white Sangria. Also bringing homemade potato salad, deviled eggs and watermelon.

I am sure that the neighbors will be setting off fireworks much to the upset of my dog. Oddly, where I live we never have big community fireworks. This year no one does.

DS & DDIL have Disney +. They live nearby and I have already invited myself over to see Hamilton. They saw it live with a touring company.

We're staying close to home, barbecuing.  There were fireworks at the lake last night (we live about 2 miles away, but heard them all) and spectacular ones on TV at Mount Rushmore.  Anticipating a fun day of quiet celebration of the spirit of '76.  Happy Independence Day to everyone!
