I took him in about 6 weeks ago, thinking his family had to be looking for him so I would only have him overnight. Well, a week later I had him checked out and tried to introduce him to my 3 cats slowly. I was letting him out of isolation for a few hours when I was home and could supervise, but I did not see him every second.

It has not worked out.

Kitty was not vicious, but there was some scuffle I did not see. One of my cats ended up with a small puncture that became infected, and he had to stay at the hospital for a couple of days. He's fine, but it was expensive and painful, and proof that Kitty has to go.

I have been in denial and did NOT want to surrender him to a shelter, but today I made the call, ready to have a cry fest when I drop him off because he is such a lover cat and I got attached to him.

They're full, they can't take him. The rescues I know of are full too.

He's isolated in my living room, he doesn't like it, it's no life for him. I thought maybe I would try introductions again but my 3 freak out when they see or hear him, they're all afraid of him now.

I've been tempted to let him outside now that it's warm and see if he goes home, but that goes against everything I have tried to do for this kitty. Just very sad and frustrated at the whole situation.

Now I know why people ignore strays :-(
