Some may remember & some dont...I have a little 8lb ShihTzu who will be 13 next month. Until about 6 wks or so ago she was fun loving, playing w/toys, running thru house, active everything fine. Then suddenly she just started laying around sleeping, very lathrgic, not eating. Took her to vet, one did extensive tests, everything is fine, did fine she was going deaf, that one shook me, never really noticed any difference with her hearing, she sleeps w/me & we are together all the time. She showed no signs of hearing loss. She has got a catarac in one eye & one forming in the other but we knew of this. Dr said until the second eye got worse she would be fine. Wrong I found out if I had taken her & had the catarac removed when it first started she would be able to see out of it now. We had an appointment to have the upcoming catarac looked at but she got to acting so sick I canceled appointment till I find out what is wrong w/her. Changed her food & this helped for awhile, then last Sat. gave her a bath, she rolled & ran like normal afterwards then suddenly went & laid in floor & we couldnt get her up to eat or even go out to potty. Took her back to vet MORE extensive tests, still all tests show she is healthy! Vet gave her some prednisone & I wouldnt give it to her, hate it, but finally decided to because I thought she was going to lay there & die. She livened up like her old self after second day on it. Skipped today & while I was sitting her reading paper, she was asleep on couch, she rolled over & fell off couch, so quick, I jumped & ran to her, & she just laid there, I realized she was so sound asleep or something that she never knew she fell off!! I am so scared I am going to lose her!! I am so totally at a loss as to what is wrong w/her. Please does anyone have any thoughts..and please keep her in your prayers. I just dont want to loss her!! So sorry this is so long..
