Hi all .... Well, it seems the long winter may be coming to an end and Molly and
I couldn't be happier about it. In just a few months I will have had her for a
year .... that is so hard to believe until I remember back to everything she's
been through to get healthy. Yesterday I gave her a bath, dried her off, and
this morning as I was walking her, I particularly noticed how pretty she is
looking. Far from that scrawny, sickly-looking 9 lb. terrified little thing I
got last June .... she is now a 14 lb. shiny-coated, "feathery," and fully
slippered lady. She trots along and her fluffy tail never stops wagging. She
is so happy. And, oh my, I couldn't ask for a more affectionate dog .... where
I am, she is - I believe it's called a "Velcro dog." I love it. Often if I
take an afternoon nap, she is curled up squished against me on one side and on
the other side is one of my kitties. I can't move much, but it sure is nice
and cozy and warm.
I don't know if I told you all, but you know she takes Panzyme with every meal
since she has a non-functioning pancreas. Well, it's always been a powder,
which made her ears smell unbelievably awful when they got into it. I actually
found, on Drs. Foster and Smith, the same thing in tablet form. I talked to my
Vet. and he thinks they're a decent site, so he Fax-d them an Rx for the Panzyme
tablets and I've been using them for a few months now ..... no more smell.
I just wanted to give you all an update on my beautiful little tri-colored lady
.... she has come such a long way from that puppy mill that it's hard to
believe. You all were so supportive and kind to me when I got her, and struggled through those first awful months, and I sincerely thank you for that. But, I think we've made it!
