Suzie, Lemon meringue pie!!??!!! Now you've done it. That was my dear father's absolute favorite. My mother had a habit of not writing down her recipes, making things on the fly, so I followed her around one day and took notes. Wow, this thread is making me a wee bit misty-eyed remembering those who aren't here anymore.

kittymom, I'm so glad you're here! Don't be a stranger... even in the midst of the occasional "slings and arrows" on the forums, we can dodge them and make this an enjoyable place, right?

Thank you - I'll look for soda crackers. If they're not at the store, we have a Cracker Barrel nearby. I wouldn't want to make a mistake and ruin my pie!

Even though I already have a couple of cans of canned peaches ready to open, I'm now craving canned apricots! I can actually taste and smell the aroma right now! So, guess who's going grocery shopping after dinner...........

I like fresh peaches.

Any canned fruit grosses me out. I hate mushy textured fruit.

Ripe and juicy baked in a cobbler or homemade peach ice cream after supper on the back porch while watching the sunset........

Oh baby, my mom would do blackberry cobbler with top and bottom crust! That's the only way to roll..

My grandmother made cobbler with double crust too. My favorite was peach cobbler sprinkled with blackberries....

I like eating white peaches, or peach pie

They have to be totally ripe, un-refrigerated, and locally grown.

Then I have a few every day, until the season ends.
