I really couldn't care less about celebrities' opinions.

"Power of celebrity"? Look at it this way. Shoppers run after cookware, appliances, clothing, make upand other products hawked by Curtis Stone, Emeril, Wolfgang Puck, Guiliana Rancic, Lisa Rinna and others.
Maybe there IS "power in celebrity".

Celebrities do travel the world and see things that us ordinary folk do not, such as living condiitions, pollution, poverty, world capital cities and such, so I do think they are much more aware of things going on in the world whether it be global warming, over-crowding and poor water quality, etc...
I think in some circumstances their "celebrity" could draw attention to things that may be swept under the rug by various governments. When it comes to the pollution of our planet and the plights of various populations on this Earth, what they have to say might at least open some eyes and cause some thought and conversation about our human plight.

The fact of celebrity itself, doesn't sway me. So many people judged to be celebrities, at least in the entertainment field, subscribe to world views vastly different to my own and exhibit personal conduct that is anathema to me. Many that I have heard vehemently holding forth, are uninformed, in my opinion. I look to very different models for advice or guidance, if needed.
But people are individuals, thankfully, and if someone who "happened" to be a celebrity, had a great message, consistent with my values, I'd listen!

Nope, they don't.
In the end, NO person has any power over you unless you give it to them.

I resent these people thinking they are intellectually and morally superior, and I am too stupid to evaluate and make my own decisions.
And isn't it funny just because they can sing, act, dance...they think they have all the solutions to our world problems too

You mean like going to a Climate Change Rally by means of their private jet..... Leonardo Di Caprio is one thats called to mind....after even filming documentaries on global warming.....
Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio flew an additional 8,000 miles from France to New York and back to accept an award on climate change.
The actor suffered a massive blow on his carbon footprint when he took one jet from the Cannes Film Festival to New York City to attend the green awards ceremony, before hopping on board a second jet for a fund-raising event back in Cannes the following evening.
The New York awards ceremony was the Riverkeeper Fishermen’s Ball at Chelsea Piers, where he was honoured by the clean-water advocacy group and fellow actor Robert De Niro for his efforts to raise awareness on climate change.

No nothing about a celebrity influences me. Not even when they are on shopping channels selling I am not buying
