I don't know if you saw my reply. We're having some stormy weather, and I lost my Internet connection several times while trying to read and post on that thread. I might be gone again any minute! ${#emotions_dlg.laugh}$

Answering your question about the sketchy threads in the wee hours of the morning, by "new" posters:

When I read here, I often select Viewpoints and then the "View All Categories," so those from a variety of forums show up. The (almost daily) posts are all over the place, in beauty, fashion, health & fitness. But now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever seen one in Viewpoints. I use a "Web of Trust" add-on, and nearly every one of the links is marked as highly dangerous (phishing, user ID theft, etc.). Some of the new posters try to pretend to be asking questions, looking for advice, while others are outright advertisements.

Another reason QVC should be monitoring more carefully.
