splitting the bill...

How do you feel about splitting the bill at lunch when the others envolved ordered a LOT more-$25 each more, and they are the ones who say--lets just split the bill.

I love these gal friends, but I was taken aback, and said I would pay my own.

I guess it would be better to say before hand how the bill would be handled.

Or was I being petty?
