Whats wrong with Lutherans {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Nothing, as far as I know.

It's part of the name of a very large senior living community in a small town.

I think she meant the store was going to be crowded? that's how I took it.

I took it that way too. I've read that some posters are attacked for no reason and this thread is a prime example. The OP was just sharing an incident that happened to her. I found it a whole lot more interesting than a lot of the drivel that's regularly posted here. The favorite this and favorite that types are brain numbing.

Re: speaking of happenings in the grocery line....

The reason she said Lutheran is BECAUSE it is the bus from the Lutheran Home and they do take their residents to the store on a bus and let them do their shopping. HH said nothing wrong she was just stating what happened. Its the same thing when I used to go for grocery store and a bus would pull up with residents from a near by home and I knew I was in trouble. Those residents take over with their carts and bang into you yell "sorry" and keep on charging around the store or else they have trouble walking (like me) and they slowly hobble around the store (like me) and you can't get around them. Some of you who are nit picking should have this experience. And yes I am a senior citizen so I am not making fun of anyone, but it is true everyone thinks the same way when they see the buses from these homes. Nuyna I remember when Cranberry was nothing but fields and a couple stores. Always went down 19 to go shopping at North Hills. it is just like in the area I live we had nothing around us now it is shopping center on top of a shopping center. Too be honest I never thought there was as much property available to build all the stores we now have here and they just keep adding more stores.

Re: speaking of happenings in the grocery line....

As a Senior, I myself cannot stand the way some seniors act, and have a hard time being around some. On the whole they are polite, our generation raised that way. I really didn't think the OP, was attacking Seniors, yet my post sounded like it when I read it back. I meant to say that about Seniors not being the popular people in this society, it's true, but the OP was telling her story of how it happen.

So why didn't the cashier ask the woman holding up the line if she needed help and then call for the manager or someone to come to help her. Doesn't someone from the home come along to assist their residents? Just waiting didn't seem a good plan, you could still be there.

I was going to ask the same. Also, when I'm shopping and someone is in the way or their cart is in the way, I just politely say "excuse me, please" and the other person always moves.

Why just stand there?

The OP said it appeared she had Parkinsons or some other debilitating condition. She eventually had to be helped with a wheelchair - so she evidently couldn't just move out of the way.

The OP was not the one who was impatient - it was the woman behind her in line.

At least read the thread before criticizing.

Read it yourself. Nowhere did OP say it appeared the lady had Parkinson's or some other debilitating condition.

I just read the whole thread and the OP's post #5 refers to the Parkinson's.

No problem; I've learned the 'hard way' to make sure I read the whole thread before I post.
