Re: speaking of happenings in the grocery line....

I didn't see HH go off unhinged at all. Irritation with the woman behind her which, from what she wrote, is understandable.

It was a shame the cashier didn't walk around and ask the woman if she needed assistance. Waving at the office staff wasn't as effective. She could have asked and got the help needed. If the seniors are going to be using that store more often, the staff needs to be ready to help.

Any excuse to expect a problem. If you look for problems long enough you always find one.

Stick it to the elderly, they are not very well liked in this society. We all get there and so does Karma

If we're lucky, we all get there.

Ok I guess this has become yet another full bore attack just for the joy of it - so I will leave now and let you all have a good time.

Sorry this happened to you. I don't think you were being mean at all. You were just telling your story.

I think the OP would complain if her water was wet. Seriously.

Re: speaking of happenings in the grocery line....

I regularly shop in stores where there are a lot of elderly shoppers. I have no problem saying "excuse me, may I get by you?" Usually, the other shopper is unaware that she/ he is blocking the path of another person, and apologizes and steps aside. Not such a big problem!

There was a thread very recently on this same subject: re, grocery stores. The OP was simply telling what happened to her. Not a reason in the world to jump all over her.

I know what that's like. Sometimes, it seems no matter what you say, it gets taken the wrong way. Sorry you got chased off, OP.
