I know everyone here is concerned about this. Last night I got a call from 0000000000 on my cell which I didn't answer. This morning there was a text from an area code 850 telling me my debit card was locked due to suspicious activity. and to call a # in the 850 area.

I don't use a debit card.

Anyway don't answer any calls that you don't know the caller.

You can also text back that you are on the Do Not Call List and this is your notice to them DO NOT CONTACT. Whenever I have done this, I have never heard from them again, but they probably just use another number next time and it takes time to respond and also report the call or text at the FTC's Do Not Call (complaint) online. So, I recently discovered a free cell phone app called "Mr. Number" to block and/or report as spam unwanted callers. I've been forwarding my landline calls to my cell phone and using Mr. Number. It's wonderful. It's amazing how you can go for hours -- sometimes all day -- with a ringing phone that's either family or friends. I'd forgotten what that feels like!

I wouldn't text back to an obvious spam No like this one, they know they have a real person on the other end.

You can block any number you don't want. If I ever get an unwanted call on my cell phone, which is practically never, I block it.

A 000000000 number used to call my landline phone all the time for years. They finally stopped.
