Sylvia, Is it true the shots aren't into the stomach anymore? Do you still have to have a long series of them?

My lawn guy feeds squirrels and raccoons, but he says he has never been bitten. They are often rabid down here in FL, though. Besides, I don't feed critters because I am away too often travelling. Then they expect food punctually but don't get any.

I received about 9 injections into and all around the bite--I also got one into my shoulder muscle and a tetanus shot----not in my stomach. (would be ouchy)---I will get a rabies shot on this Friday, on Tuesday next and the Tuesday following---I'm taking penicillin too---this has been surreal

I had a raccoon for a pet years ago. Those little devils have teeth like needles. I was trying to get this "pet" out of a tight spot and he bit me, going all the way through my thumbnail. Ouch! I sympathize with you, Sylvia.

So sorry about the bite/rabies shots. I once knew a squirrel whom I used to hand nuts to. I never dared put them in the beastie's mouth, cute as he/she was. Hope everything turns out okay for you.

Yes they will and give you a mega headache. Still, better than rabies.

Not familiar with your eye or what wild animal bit you. I do however relate to a lot of time spent in an ER. While an ER is usually not a pleasant experience, I don't believe in "self-pity". There are thousands, maybe millions of others that have had to deal with much worse things than I have experienced.

I hope your eye and your bite are short term and then you might consider throwing out your "pity pot".
