There are many types of shoes made that are not so ""mechanized"". There are also certain types of boots made for certain types of things hockey players wear on their feet that are not also ""mechanized"".

Now as for the ladies shoes/makeup etc? Beats me.

Re: shoe technology, make-up technology, kitchenware technology, etc etc

Whomever is going around saying this and that about 'technology' is full of b-ll. I had shoes as a youngster made by cobblers and they didn't use 'technology', just good ol fashion skill and talent. Later I had boots made by a shoemaker who also didn't use 'technology'. Those shoes and boots were the best fitting and longest lasting.

The overpriced stuff sold today would never stand up to the craftsmanship of the past.

Re: shoe technology, make-up technology, kitchenware technology, etc etc

seems like ""technology"" has replaced ""craftsmanship"" as a descriptive term- How technologically advanced do I WANT my shoes to be? will they shine themselves? Will they ""walk "" upstairs to wake me up in the morning so I don't need the ""new GPS technology"" of my alarm clock? LOL!!??

Ha. When dental floss can floss our teeth by itself - now that would be technology.
