I have two Labs and I chuck tennis balls into the water for them all the time and they love it. I don't do it when the surf is really rough or there is a rip current, but when it's pretty calm there I let em fly. Don't bike with my dogs, but I do worry a little about that one. I worry about them getting hit by a passing car or it the biker has an accident.

No, the standard is 3 days in most communities for animal control to retain an animal. If the dog or cat is not rescued by the owner or a rescue group the animal will be put to sleep after three days. If your community has a standard of a week or two the animals there are luckier than most.

Our town is a no kill zone for animals. It may take awhile to find them a home but volunteers will care for the animals until they have found a home.

Lawn mowers are made for ""getting around""; that's just foolish. Dragging a dog leash while riding an electric lawn mower is an accident just waiting to happen. The person who reported the incident did the right thing.
