Can you imagine what that would be like...lol Perhaps the internet etiquette police will start handing out tickets...lol

A friendly suggestion on a better place to post is fine but I don’t want a Bossy Boots poster correcting me. That’s usurping the mods role and actually discourages people from participating.

While misplaced posting is a small thing as was playing board games when we were children, speaking up when others break the rules has to start somewhere. I believe it begins with children playing games. When I was a child both in the neighborhood and at my school, no one got away with fudging, much less breaking, the rules.
I remember a teacher asking, "Are you going to stand up for what's right and proper or are you going to be among the crowd that sits down?"
It's a small thing for sure but it's not fair to malign those who expect BB rules to be followed and fault those who don't.

@Pearlee wrote:@dooBdoo Very well stated. I agree with you - it is inconsiderate of others to start a completely off topic thread in a particular forum.
I think it's inconsiderate too @Pearlee. Some people make their own rules tho and don't care about others or if what they do bothers other people . But if somebody crosses them out come the snarks lol.
@phindell82 Definitely. You hit the nail on the head!

If everybody posts threads willy nilly wherever they want to then no reason to have categories.
Remember common courtesy? Common internet netiquette courtesy says post in a forum that matches the thread topic.
I post on a busy local community board and their moderators got fed up with people ignoring forum subject sections so now they delete your thread if it's posted in the wrong forum section and they ban people who do it again. Bam!Surprised the Mods let it slide sometimes here. Most savvy internet board users know it's inappropriate. It's not the wild west lol.
@charvaleExactly! It's esp. egregious to post something completely OT in a forum (and one poster here would even post OT in the thread title so she was always doing that on purpose and was well aware of it) just because most of a person's board friend here read in that forum. Really? How very selfish to everyone else who came to that forum to actually read posts in that forum topic.

@Sue98 wrote:It was brought to my attention recently that I may be posting some of my threads in the wrong forum (mainly Community Chat). I have a couple of thoughts/questions about that.
First of all, I see many posts in Community Chat that should probably be posted in different forms (according to some who are bothered by this), BUT it makes absolutely no difference to me! I have been posting on these boards for several years now, and I never remember there being a problem with this before.
When did it become so annoying/irritating/offensive (or whatever you want to call it) to post in the "wrong" forum? When did it become such a problem that it warrants snarky and unkind comments?

Who gave you a ration of s*** about it? Please tell us who that old lady is so we can ask her where we should post. I'll bet she also yells at kids to stay off her lawn
"Old lady" ? For goodness sakes....

With all due respect I think the OP wasn't really scolded about where she posted her thread.
I believe the thread was the one on CC page 2 called "Confused about Amy Roloff's age....53 or 55?"
Read the thread and see what you think. 👍

@caroline2323 Thanks, but I'm so not interested in Amy Roloff or her age that I"ll pass and just take your word for it.

Lol! I'm not either @Pearlee.
It's a short thread.
Only mentioned it it because I think the OP misunderstood a couple of posts.
The actual snark on that thread was about no interest in the Roloffs etc. ![]()

Most times I post in CC, however, if I want to discuss beauty products I will post in Beauty. I also will post in Handbags if that is what I want to discuss. I check out the Wellness section when and if I want to talk about health issues. Same goes for Jewelry, Electronics. TV and Movies, etc, etc.
I have no problem if anyone posts in CC for whatever they want to discuss. If a moderator chooses to move a subject to a different Forum so be it but I would never, ever, tell someone they should post in a different Forum.
