Re: "FIXING" The Q

[ Edited ]

@Just Bling

The last few years QVC has struggled --revenues and sales have declined (reports are under Qurate's parent company's website--LibertyInteractive.com) The pandemic and quarantine has actually helped QVC find new customers, or renewed interest for existing customers and they did improve financially the last couple of quarters, but with things opening up again, will QVC again struggle or prosper...we will have to wait and see....

Most successful companies want feedback to help them keep up with changing times to keep customers happy....some companies send out Surveys, some have Forums...Those retailers you've mentioned dont have Forums.

Actually customers that make suggestions or recommendaitons do so because they care about keeping QVC as a viable shopping option....QVC is a unique retailer since they broadcast their products via a TV Channel.  And being on TV makes the hosts/vendors more visible to their customer base, so customers will tend to comment on them, it just comes with the territory just like they do for newscasters or other TV personalities.  That's the BIG difference! And the Moderators are here to remove unkind host/vendor comments.....

Yes, customers that are unhappy can just go away quietly and shop elsewhere but what happens is  as customers and sales decline the retailers struggle financially (like JCP, Macy's, Nordstroms etc etc) and some end up going out of business entirely like Sears

If threads of this nature bother you....you can always PASS THEM BY and move on to something you find enjoyable...

Retail in and of itself is a wishy washy segment of our capitalistic society.  It always has been and always will be.  It's the nature of the business.  it's not exacting.  You can forecast all you want; if people don't want to part with their discretionary income for tank tops and denim jackets then they won't.  There are segments of the populatiion, however they are assured of doing well with.  They study this and make decisions based on their studies about what to sell, when to sell it and more.

When customer service takes a beating at a  place you spend money then it's up to the individual to decide if they DESERVE your money.  You have to teach people how to treat you sometimes.  If you don't want mistreatment you have to show them that.  That means backing out. Then, there are those who have more tenancity and sticktoitiveness and have loyalty.  I am loyal to those who are loyal to me.  In the business world like retail loyalty really doesn't exist.

@Spurt

Oh my nothing bothers me and I can't believe you got that out of my post.

I'm just suggesting (my opinion of course and everyone has one) that if something isn't broken it can't be fixed.

I don't read the Q's financials nor do I care.  There are plenty of people in high profile positions that get paid very well to run this company.

Thanks for your input and appreciate everyone's opinion.

I think those who remember the Q when it actually stood for Quality, Value & Convenience are offering what they think is useful feedback. Many believe forums are a way to get their ideas through to the company in a written form.

Most profit-oriented businesses take into account customer feedback over time and  make adjustments.

QVC sure ain't what it used to be and could probably use some "fixing."
