"Dead" forums - Page 4

I registered on Ptoboard only because I thought this forum was dead. While it's still alive, I find this site easier to navigate. I've been coming here for ages. I'm on Facebook but I dislike it a lot. I never look at QVC there.

I'm so very sorry.

My thoughts are that many posters got out of the habit of dropping in (in the forums) and found other things to do.

Q should have made their upgrades well known instead of jerking around the posters that had been so loyal. Posters became frustrated about not being able to sign on. The new CEO may have (NO one will ever know) thought he could end the forums and didn't realize how much they were tied up to sales.

I'm registered on proboards, but posting a personal picture is different than over here and takes more steps. I worked so much during Christmas, I just didn't have the time. What one knows is SO much more comfortable!

The ladies that set up the new boards did a lot of hard work and should receive a metal, bless them! They tried to provide us a place to land since they said they were closing us down. I wrote the new CEO and told him I was done buying from Q and ending my auto fills.

He may have seen his new position becoming something he hadn't envisioned.

I just scrolled through, and I see one thread about a poster. Other than that, no, not a bad word about here.

@MG Chris You may not be seeing any RECENT threads about posters and this board but they were there. In fact a poster on this thread repeatedly started threads making fun of those HERE who were hesitant to join.

There was also a thread closed down because it started to lead into baiting another poster.

I joined PB to connect with some friends from here, saw the thread that was about to become contentious, and I closed my account.

As far as openly talking about posters, we did discuss a poster we were all concerned about health-wise.

I have been on 3 off-shoot Q boards and trust me-pm's are a very safe way to pick at posters. Many of those were revealed so do not think for one moment that gossip does not go on. Or that you (generic) can trust those who engage you in pm's.

It's just that the mods will not allow it.

Everyone do what is best for them-but no board is every pristine and free from drama.

Not everyone takes part in threads (and there are not many) talking about others. Some people disagree and say so. And when that happens those who disagree are not run out on a rail.
That's what I like about the other board. You can disagree without the posse of the perpetually clenched trying to get you eliminated. The mods there seem to frown on those who consistently report and complain about others' posts.

@JamandBread How can you prove who reports and complains?

These boards are not platforms for Ph.D dissertations.

They are chat boards.

For chatting.

Warts and all.

You cannot please every poster and accusations about posters complaining about other posters is just another round of drama and gossip.

i am in a number of QVC groups, including the official one. YES, you CAN create threads and have a discussion easily. so, depending on what type of qvc group you are in, you can see very many people posting. of course, you are NOT going to be talking about some of the stuff found in community chat here. there are MANY people in those groups......lots more than on these or the proboards.

i am fine posting here mostly and it is just busy enough for me at this time. i am hoping that those posters who like "predicting" that qvc will shut down the boards, will be wrong and that qvc will keep them around. while i am on the proboards, i am rarely posting there and dont even do a lot of reading there either. i have noticed that there is definitely less activity on the proboards than there was initially. i am sure that IF qvc decides to close down that more people will venture over to the proboards.

Yes it's very simple. There is a pattern here which cannot be mistaken. It is obvious to even casual observers, who may read but rarely post. The pattern continues on proboards but is frowned upon. It makes a difference.
I'm not sure what the PhD comment was about, but if asking people to cite their sources for ugly opinions smacks of PhD level work, I'm all for it.
