Never went over to the other board because I'm not a "social media" type.  I only come to the forums here after checking to see what has been on QVC recently.

I do notice a lack of activity here and one poster in particular, andrea2(???) who used to post clothing pix, I have not seen in a long time.  Assumed she went over to the other board.

When QVC discontinues these forums which, IMO, is inevitable, I will not miss them.

Re: "Dead" forums

[ Edited ]

It has been dead for a couple of weeks. Maybe it will pick up.

I still think QVC will shut down this forum.

I’ve always liked Proboards going back about 20 years. I think it’s very straightforward to use. I spend more time on IG but don’t post a lot anywhere due to work.

I do another online forum that has also slowed way down in postings the last two months. I don't know if people just don't want to "talk" or busy or what. I used to think QVC forum was way too busy for me. It would be page 4 for some posts in a couple of hours. This makes it nice in a way, you hear a lot of different perspectives. But the thread gets full quickly. The HSN forum is pretty dead lately, too.

I don't know about anyone else but lately all kinds of things aren't so good in the world. Lots of negative stuff happening all over the place and that makes me not want to 'socialize' much at all. I just want to sit somewhere quite and not have to put stress on my brain, whatever that might be. Coming here can sometimes help bring my spirits up and then sometimes it doesn't so I tend to stay away.

There is no charge for using ProBoards, so that's not it.

Facebook isn't really a forum where things are discussed.  It's a promotion of products by QVC.  People put together hideous outfits, post selfies, then others tell them how beautiful they are.

I find the Proboards hard to use, not from a technical standpoint but because they're hard to see.  I'm also dubious about the moderation.  I didn't hear both sides but don't like the way Carmie was treated.  I occasionally read a few threads but never see anything interesting enough to comment.

It's not only forums. I'm seeing differences across the board. I'm amazed I'm not getting constant telemarketing calls (in fact none many days this month) and my e-mail is not flooded with advertisements and those questionable naughty scams.

Actually, I'm liking the peace it brings. I know it will all pick-up again as we move into the NY. The good and the bad of it all.

I read and post on both boards and plan to continue with both.

I haven't found any difficulty post on the PB forums at all.  In fact, I think the other board is very well set up and allows a lot of personal fine-tuning.

I admit I don't understand the seemingly non-ending criticism of it by those who don't want to register or post there.

I've been on this board for more years than my nic info shows (they reset it, when the boards were revamped in 2010) and until they shut down (and I think they will), I'll continue to read and post here.

But I also read and post on ProBoards and will continue to.  There's no benefit to anyone to keep trying to dissuade or persuade others from using either.  Perhaps everyone's New Year's resolution could be to "live and let live"?
