~ question about dog licking ~

My dog, Molly, who is a rescue from a puppy mill (she's a now 5 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) licks anything and everything........ the sofa, a chair, the rug, my slacks, the bedspread. I do not understand why she does this.

Can any of you provide any thoughts on this?
