A piece on the home page of MSN about things a guy should not do when he proposes - number one - never ask unless you have a ring. Excuse me??? So if she loves you and you have already talked about and planned marriage the #1 most important thing should be the ring? HUH? It said she will not take it as an offical engagement if you don't have a ring. I'd say that is very superficial.My husband gave me a house first and the diamond ring came a few years later. As much as I love my ring - I love my hubby more and I'd much rather have a house than a ring.
