As infrequently as I use a stamp, the increase does not bother me.  However, the service you are getting to mail something is well worth the price.

Re: postage stamps going up

[ Edited ]

@Hi @catter70   Thanks for the info.

I send some Cards, and a couple of Checks to places I want to have very limited Info on me.  Helps me keep an addt'l level of security.

When my beloved late Dad was living, I sent him Cards (& ditties) numerous times a week.  In part to keep telling him I love him, over & over, but also to keep him moving getting exercise (to the mailbox), otherwise he went to Rehab frequently to get back in shape.

So I have umpty-nine "LOVE"  Forever stamps.  Just cant make myself pay any bills with a LOVE stamps (yet) but have a bunch!  Woman LOL

Thinking back about the USPS .....

I think the smartest decision they ever made was the FOREVER STAMP concept.

Forever makes this simpler (and less costly) for everyone.

i recall when I was a kid, my Dad would get annoyed with the occasional postage increase because you had to buy additional two-cent or four-cent stamps to place next to the stamp purchased before the increase.

I still have some four-cent stamps in my stamp box ... one of the last side stamps before they went to the Forever system.

I was always a big supporter of our local Hallmark store.  I want to support local businesses, but some of the cards are getting so high.  At Christmas, I put several back.  $7-$8 for a few. No wonder so many cards stores have closed.   Still went and got some "special" cards at Dollar Tree.  A little less embellished, but nice sentiments.  Added some glitter and stickers to the envelopes.  Most were $1.

@tansy That's why I buy them at Dollar Tree.  I'd rather see $1 end up in the recycling bin than the $4 or $5 for the Hallmark.

78 cents for a stamp is still a bargain.  Your card can go clear across the country for that price.  Not worried, will still send out many birthday, anniversary and Christmas cards.
