I'm talking about all the frenzy I've seen on these boards over the years. Remember SARS? West Nile? People worked themselves up until they were afraid to even leave their houses.

I in no way am saying to be complacent. I'm simply saying there's such a thing as being overly worried. As mentioned, more people die from flu and its complications.

West Nile is a great concern in my neck of the woods....several of the local cities try to stay on top of it by spraying but most of the time spraying doesn't take place until they have confirmed cases of it....they test mosquitoes in the traps for West Nile on a regular basis....I know my outside evening walk no longer happens...early morning and dusk are 2 major times of concern...I simply am not willing to take that risk since the walking trail near my home has a pond and some other standing water sources.

You got that right.....I don't get the shot...my DH does....I take no issue with those who do get it and hope they take no issue that I choose not to. :-)

Don't feel bad. I get it and DH doesn't and never has. It's just the way we are.

One thing this illustrates is that we are a global community, like it or not.

When there is something like Ebola out there, we need to put American money and effort into treatment and vaccines, because in time it will come here.

I started out getting the flu shot to protect DH, my daughter started getting them the next year for the same reason. This year, all three of us have already had the new vaccination.

Bill Gates is the founder and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which this month committed $50 million to fight the Ebola epidemic through emergency medical care, supplies and long-term research into potential treatment therapies. It was the largest single donation the foundation has ever pledged to a humanitarian cause.

As long as it is allowed to come in to the country, we are at RISK.

Anyone who thinks they can outsmart a virus is wrong.

Putting American troops in proximity to the area means they come back possibly exposed.

The best way to fight it is to keep it CONFINED to where it is.

what is it? It is a virus. You cannot confine it, as it is carried. Are you saying that certain people should not be allowed into this country?
