In the Pacific Ocean, there is a floatilla of garbage twice the size of Texas. If they actually find pieces of this plane it'll be a miracle.

Agreed. Huge place to look, with rough seas. It's not called the Roaring 40's for nothing. Very few days are really clear, (though I understand today it will be) Even if they do find parts of the plane, the goal is the black box. It will be a major miracle if they find it. It's not even the Indian Ocean, but the Southern Ocean, closer to Antarctica then Australia. The only thing they will know for sure is that the plane was not supposed to be there. By criminal intent, accident, or terrorist. I doubt we will ever know.

They have thirty days after the crash/accident to find the black box. If more than that then they will have to use the same technology that found the black box from the Air France plane.

So am I. It sure is not looking good. My sister was here today she said I look bad, I said I watched tv and was on the computer till the wee hours of the morning.

cater ~ I know. I have it on all day and before I go to bed...the one pilot thinks the plane is not in the water as the beacon (water sensitive) would be emanating a signal.....

I got a CNN alert on my phone earlier today that said sonar from a US ship detected a large mass under water. Anyone else hear or see this?
