No, I remember it, too.
I have many pieces and it still is as beautiful as when I bought it. A pinky ring I wear every day.
Looked forward to those shows.

Remember Q Bird? I still have a magnetic dry erase Q Bird calendar on my fridge. It was a promotional item they sent out long ago. Same era as the Lucky Number game.

Great items and the hosts and vendors seemed to take pride in describing the merchandise.

I liked the variety, too. I did watch a lot more back then partially due to the variety and partially due to the quality.
Of course, there was stuff I didn't care for, but then it's not all about me. I remember they had this one guy who painted pictures of these, like, troll houses. I never saw the appeal. Also there was this line of costume jewelry with this big production of fairies and sparkly stuff and costumes - it was pretty awful. But it wasn't that often.
I liked it when they had fine jewelry, which they virtually don't even have at all now. When they do have gold it's either poor quality, filled with goo, or plated over something else (costume). Good thing I have plenty of jewelry, though.
I also still have some clothing items from QVC that were actually made in the US. Maybe that's why they have lasted all these years. I got my first Tivo on QVC. The kitchen shows, about the only thing I ever watch anymore, had a lot more variety too.
Some of the QVC brands, like CE and Technique were good quality. I noticed that one thing they started doing (and others do it too, so it's not just a hit on QVC) is that they will make a product, or line of products, with very good quality. They sell a ton of them and once they are massively popular they dumb down the quality and when you buy more of the items, or additional pieces, you can see that they are nowhere near as good quality as they were at first. That's always a shame.

@Kardi wrote:I bought several pieces of Fenton glass. Beautiful stuff, some I use, some is strictly decorative. Like many of you my kids will want none of it. If I live long enough maybe my great-grandkids will appreciate it. Also I remember the quilt shows.
I recall the quilt shows very well and purchased an entire set for one of my guest rooms: quilt, pillow covers, small deco pillows and curtains, which I used with sheers.
The pink flower/rose fabric pattern was very, very pretty, but not too noisy. Know what I mean? And I'm not usually one to purchase stuff with flowers on it, but this one just stood out.
Now that I've been quilting a few years, I know what a bargain I got in what must have been 1997.

I miss the 14k solid gold pieces and 18k gold offerings.
Just got a solid gold bangle yesterday that was on waitlist since Jan. 15th (Gold Rush). It's over 34 grams of gold, which is sooo unusual for QVC any more.
I hope because all three sizes were sold out and waitlisted, they'll 'get it' that people will spend money on real gold.

Yes, it was actually fun to watch QVC then! I remember Boyd's Bears - it was usually Mary Beth on that show, and she would talk about all the bears she had. Then the craft shows and other things, it was so varied and more relaxing to watch.
I hardly ever watch now, every now and then I'll look in at a handbag show but I really haven't watched much since Lisa left.
I don't like the vibe.
Now it's like they are trying to appeal to younger, "hipper" people and the fast pace is annoying.
JMO....
