HSN still has plenty of craft days and a large selection of craft items on their website.  In fact, they are having an all-day craft day on 3/16.  If their shows are any indication, crafting is far from dead.....especially for many of us!

I liked it when they used to sell beautiful pictures and lamps and things that a person could really decorate their home with. We have some beautiful pictures from the Q that everyone make comments about when they come here.

Yes, I do remkember that and they were very nice.

Now it's all VPH junk and other trinckets and nick nacks.  All dust collectors and junk.

Yes, I remember that. My mom and aunt bought some of those things from Q and the other channel. I have never bought any collectibles from a shopping channel, but I watched many of those shows.

I miss when the hosts were more relaxed, and when they let the vendors speak.

Was the vendor for Fenton back in the day named Bill?  He was an older gentleman and I was very fond of all the info he would give about carnival glass and glass collectibles.

I have two vases from Fenton and use them often.   When I was growing up in Mass, everyone collected small Fenton vases and put them in their "picture windows" to catch the light.  To this day, I am drawn to the cranberry color and the turquoises because of the display in one of my school friend's windows.

What I most miss from the good old days of QVC is the 18K gold shows and the nationality based specials:  Octoberfest for German things as well as the barely surviving Irish days.  They had Italian and Portuguese specials at one time, too.

OHHH those wonderful, funny Halloween shows with Steve Bryant.. even my husband watched them, loved all the stuff.. and the Imperial Gold shows, and when Mary Beth did the Klondike gold shows..  Those all were the best!!!   I'd love to see the Q go back to what it used to be but I guess they had to go along with the times, and that, well, lost my interest all together..

remember when QVC use to sell the dolls and boyd's bears and can't forget the arts and crafts.

I do and I also remember when the poor ladies who used to do scrapbooking would get pounded on for their threads and all the complaints about all day show on scrapbooking.

As mentioned earlier, fads come and go - Boyd's bears have been passe for a long time and most folks are not collecting as they used to do in many areas.  Marie Osmond's dolls were a big thing at one time but she has moved onto an exercise thingie.

Nice thread!  I remember most of the merchandise discussed here. Not only did they have variety the quality and value were good. Not so sure that's true now.
