@birkin baby

Mike's done pretty good for himself!  I did not watch the Dirty Jobs program much, but I did get hooked on Somebody's Gotta Do It.  I hope that will return for another season.

I always wanted to try the Gallery Glass & Colorsteps for shoes.  Same rep from Plaid.  Was her name Carol?

The "good old days" were only great because tv shopping was new.  There were many women who were housewives whose children were grown so that was their target audience as they were home all day.  There were so many not  practical items that appealed to that demographic who liked crafts (to fill their time),  collectibles and decorating things.  Now people don't reallly collect things, don't have time for crafts and are more minimalist.  There were so many really junky items that did not work (first steam cleaner, gadgets for scrubbing,etc.).  Most shopped locally and tv shopping was exciting with the urgency to order while product aired and waiting for packages was thrilling.  I prefer the way things are now where products are more useful and actually work!

I am the only one who remembers Beverly HIlls Gold?

I remember Beverly Hills Gold - bought a few bracelets. I also loved Imperial Gold. It was a bit pricey, but nice gram weights and beautiful. Ahh, those were the good ole days !

I remember him. I think his name was Steve Colintuno, something like that. I think I have one piece somewhere in storage now. My decorating style has changed since then. I do miss the olden days, there was much more of a variety. They are stuck on all the same old vendors now.

It seems that they were stuck on the same old vendors back then also.  They always seemed to have hours and hours of dolls, collectibles,  same jewelry brands and decorating shows but I think it just seemed like more variety because there was no internet shopping.  Now everything is out there all over so it would seem impossible for any company to provide as much variety.

@SusieGarnet  That's it!  Thanks so much.  I made over many doors and windows with those kits.  It was so much fun! 😊

I bought several pieces of Fenton glass.  Beautiful stuff, some I use, some is strictly decorative.  Like many of you my kids will want none of it.  If I live long enough maybe my great-grandkids will appreciate it.  Also I remember the quilt shows.
