Re: # of posts count accurate?

@KathyPet- they're not remotely accurate.  I've been posting here for 150,000 years and over the years, when they've made board changes, for some unknown reason, huge chunks disappear from the post count.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: # of posts count accurate?

The only time I pay attention to the post count is when I see a poster name in small print and the poster count is 1 or 2.  Chances are, it's something dreadful that has happened with one of their orders.  I have no idea whether or not my post count is accurate.  Just never have paid attention.

Not accurate. They are not counting the posts before 2010. My registered date is wrong. Been here a decade.

My post count is accurate. You might see a slight surge in my number during the weekend.  That generally coincides with my number of glasses of Merlot. 😜

@KathyPet

I haven't a clue about the accuracy of the number of posts. Never paid that much attention to them over the years.

Limited in the forums in which I read and post to about 4 of them on a regular basis. For me 5-6 a day doesn't sound like a lot, but for 365 consecutive days? That is interesting from the math you have done.

For me personally, I found this BB much more interesting when there weren't so many different forums. When there were about 1/4 as many forums seems like it was much easier to come across topics of interest to this male.

When it was broken down to so many different forums, it is very unlikely I will ever go to Beauty or Fashion, just to name a couple, forums. However there may be topics in them that would expand my knowledge, but guess I will never know.

There are times I see an "out there" thread started and see it is the 1st post for that nic, and I just ain't buying. Sometimes I mention it in a post, other times I just move on.

My posts? Very seldom have a few words in them, thus 5-6 of mine equals, who knows !

Re: # of posts count accurate?

The only reason I know that mine went down by a great deal, when they made this new board two years ago and changed all of our start dates to 2010, is that I remember somebody giving me (and others) a ration for not having a life and spending all our time here (inaccurate) because we had post counts in the five-figures.

Then, after the new board and new start dates moved up to 2010, I noticed that my post count was much, much less.  I have no idea what it is now as it's not something I keep track of, but it's about the changes over the years.

It doesn't make sense, so I have not been able to figure it out, both the new 'start dates' and changes in post numbers.   The post number thing is probably about them clearing out old stuff.

But the new start dates that were made, in 2015 when they changed the board again, to 2010 is odd.    It would seem that if they had to change the start dates for people it would have been changed to the date of the new board.  Isn't that what they did in 2004?   I arrived right around that time so I don't remember how that went.

My Gamers forum posts are never added to my count.

I think the Gamers postings are not counted because gaming interaction seems to be deemed different in nature from the other forums.

Probably so all the gamers wouldn't reach Grand Poobah status.  Smiley Surprised
