@nun ya

No. I saw this on a private group on FB. This is the one time I wish they had message capability here....I didn't want to tell the world. I'm not looking for one, but I hope you are able to get one!

Re: nintendo nes classic system...HELP!

I would sell my eye teeth for this game. I want it....for me! Not our son, not our grandchildren. I am 61 years old and I want this game so badly I can taste it.

But I'll wait. My birthday is in January, so maybe I can consider it a birthday present, to me from me.

It is what it is.

Re: nintendo nes classic system...HELP!

well, lots of people are upset.

urban outfitters tweeted out a "hidden link" this morning at 9:30 am and they were gone in seconds. they wont say how many they had. shoppers were upset because they had advertised this on various social media platforms, but only used twitter to provide the link this morning.

i checked several times throughout the overnight and at 7am, 8am, and 9am and didnt see any product......so i missed out.

still on the lookout......

Re: nintendo nes classic system...HELP!

I don't really blame Nintendo for this. They had no idea how popular the gadget would be. Nostalgia game consoles have been available for years. You can buy Atari and Sega Genesis consoles, and even remakes of earlier Nintendo consoles. There's a company called Retro-Bit that makes a single console that lets you play both NES and Super NES games (if you've got them and sadly I do.) In truth, none of them have been overly popular or sold in great numbers.

Things like the NES Classic are made by contract manufacturers (like Foxconn) for Nintendo and they make just a certain number of them based on the contract. Now no company knows how many units will actually sell, so they try to anticipate demand and hope they get it right, but if they're going to miss they'd rather miss on having too few available than too many.

The big problem is the resellers. These vultures will snatch up anything, slap a big price on it and hope to catch an unsuspecting consumer. (A reseller, Rock Mountain Books, has a book, "The City of Refuge" from a writer I know, the lovely Diana Wilder, marked up to over $2000 when you can buy it new for a very small fraction of that price: $14.63. Knowing Diana, she'd likely fly to your home and hand deliver a signed copy for $2,000 and heck, she might even read it to you for that money.)

We'll likely see this again in the spring when the Nintendo Switch comes out. That's Nintendo's bold new gaming console that was just featured on Jimmy Fallon's show this past week. The vultures will snatch up every console that hits the market for the first few weeks/months and double or triple to price to steal from unsuspecting consumers. The only real way to avoid this is to preorder anything you think you'll want as soon as the product is announced. If you think you'll be able to walk in and buy one off the shelf, you're likely wrong. The vultures will beat you to any that hit the shelves.

Fly!!! Eagles!!! Fly!!!
