Re: new vacuum needed Shark or Dyson?

Purchased a shark powered lift away about 2 months ago.  It is great . It goes from carpet to hardwood floors with a flick of your finger.  The switch is right on the wand so no bending down.  It lays flat under furniture and swivels.  No bags to change.  It is just a great vacuum.  I certainly recommend this vac.

Re: new vacuum needed Shark or Dyson?

Dyson.  I love my Dysons.   We always have dogs, kids, etc. and I have a variety of floor surfaces. I swear by the Dyson for an all around cleaning machine. I love the fact that the filters are washable and I don't have that added expense or headache to find replacment filters. I have carpet, Royal Palace rugs, ceramic, marble, hardwood floors and this performs on oall of them.  I also like the warrenty length.

I either bought mine on clearance or as the Tsv. I have two. ( one for each level) (I could not pass up the one on the clearance price)

Shark makes a good machine. My daughter in law has that brand.  She also has dogs, kids, etc.

I would set your budget. Decide on the tools you need and the ones you would like. Check the warranty and the filter option (if these are improtant to you) Read the reviews for both. (I always find these so helpful.)

I've had my Dysons for years and years so I'm happy. I know my daughter in law is pleased with her Shark.

Thaks for your help. My Oreck broke and can't be fixed. I already have a dyson, I really don't like. I'm going to try a shark

[ Edited ]

My mother bought me a Shark- one recently sold on the Q (about $110.00) that has been dynamite. This machine really pulls the dirt, fur, and general stuff from outside onto the rugs, works great under furniture and has NO bag-empties w/no fuss/muss. Great vacuum and much less expensive than the Dyson.

I keep thanking my mom! It's the best toy I've had in years!

I bought a Shark last year and love it, but I've never owned a Dyson so can't tell you much on that brand. I've had no problems with my Shark and it does a great job

Re: new vacuum needed Shark or Dyson?

I love my shark!  It's amazing what it picks up. Sometimes I think my carpet is fine and then when I vacuum , the canister fills with so much even though I vacuum several times a week. We have two dogs and a cat and I'm very pleased. I don't know the model but it's 3-4 years old, purple and was less than $100!

Another vote for Shark.  I got mine at Costco with an extra $ off coupon offer.

@petepetey

If you want a vacuum that is light weight, deal w/pet hair as well as dust bunnies & can suck up hell,  the Shark Rocket is the way to go! ThumbsUp!.gif
