Since I know most of you here I am posting this here rather than in Kitchen.
My almost twenty year old cooks essentials have bitten the dust. Two pans ended up in recycling this week.
I have been looking here at all of the sets offered and am totally confused.
What do you have, do you love it or hate it?
help!

I have a bit of everything now, It seems like there are drawbacks to all of it
I have the porcelain enamel over cast iron, but that can chip or wear away. I like it though
I have some of the better quality Teflon, but that also gets rather a bit not so hot, after it get old. Of course I pop it in the dishwasher, and I don't think you are supposed too

Stainless steel all the way. 18/10, I believe. Good quality, fairly heavy. Not lightweight, flimsy. Just pick up the stainless steel pot or pan, make sure it's a good weight and solid. I have a couple of newer ones, Wolfgang Puck from his 'Bistro' collection. Very sturdy, dependable. Glass lids. Go to Ross Stores, and check out their stainless steel pots and pans.

@hennypenny, need much more info!
How much (volume) and how often do you cook?
Are you going to be using it on gas, glass cooktop, induction, electric, gas grill?
Does it need to be dishwasher safe, or do you handwash?
Do you have strength issues that would rule out cast iron?
Is there anything you specifically DON'T like to cook in?

T-Fal & "real" cast iron fry pans. You know, the ones you need 3 hands to put a dent in someone's head if necessary. ![]()

I got rid of anything with Teflon. In the last few years I've become a big fan of Curtis Stone's cookware on the Southern channel. It's indestructible, easy to clean.
I also like Cuisinart stainless steel.

You can get non stick with glass lids. I have some I got from Bed Bath and Beyond. I don't know the brand

Stainless steel is the best. Farberware is what I have. At least 25 yrs old. Relatives have had theirs longer
