My over the range microwave died completely and I now have no light over the stove.  I never used the microwave but it did use the light and the exhaust fan function.  I'm thinking to replace the whole unit with a range hood with a filter (no outside vent).   Any suggestions?

Home Depot or Lowes has them.

Re: need non-ducted range hood

I had a Kenmore ductless hood over my range back north. It had a filter and fan to "clean" up any smoky air from the stove. I wish you good fortune in finding what you need.

Any home improvement store.  We bought ours at Sears.  Many hoods give you the option of venting or non-venting.

Thanks.   Lowes tried to sell me something for $700, not what I had in mind.

Not sure what Lowes was trying to sell you but Home Depot has them starting at $50.

Amazon has them in the range of $75 depending on the size

They are pretty cheap. I buy a new one just about every year. They are a pain to keep really clean. Easier to just buy a new one.

I have one that I LOVE.  It is made by Broan and is the Allure model.  I did my homework and looked for months before I found this one.

The fan has four speeds and there are two halogen lights than can be dimmed or made bright enough to cook in the dark with only them turned on.

I am a heavy duty cook and needed something that really worked and I needed light  above my range that was bright.  I put the filters in the dishwasher to clean them so I don't have to keep replacing the filters.

Home Depot had this, but it was way too expensive there.  I found it online and ordered it with fee delivery.  I wish I could remember the name of the company I ordered it from.  There are many online companies who sell this brand.

I have always had a non vented range hood over my stove.     When we updated our kitchen last year, I had to special order my new, plain and simple GE range hood thru Ferguson.   Lowes has cut back on their store inventory selection, and no longer carries many brands, so I did not buy anything for my kitchen update from them.   Ferguson deals with many suppliers and can order anything you want or need, relating to kitchen and bath.   We had a very good experience with this company.
