need help with lighting the top section of Bethlehem Lights Prism tree.

I just put this new tree up.  I bought it from qvc this past July or August.  Only the lower section lights up just fine.  I've felt all over the top section, spread the branches apart on it, and can't find any power chord or any apparatus that would plug into the power chord I already have plugged in an outlet in order to light the bottom section.   It's a beautiful tree, but doesn't look right with only the bottom section lit.  I looked over and over again at the instructions but don't see anything there that can help me.  I'm wondering if anyone else has this tree and could help me out.   Thanks for any replies.

@newjersey.  Is there a phone number provided for the manufacturer?  If not I'd call CS and try to get a contact.

Do you have a picture of your tree or the item #?

@newjersey - I don't have that tree, but I have the previous one that was a TSV.  Some people had issues with the lights on different sections.  They were told by BL to separate the sections and reassemble.

I don't know if it will work with your issue, but it resolved it for others.  (Apparently, the sections have to be seated in properly.)

If that doesn't work, I agree with the suggestion to call Bethlehem Lights directly and ask for their advice.

Re: need help with lighting the top section of Bethlehem Lights Prism tree.

@newjersey  I don't have the same tree you have but I bought a new tree last year that was in three sections.    We had the same problem with the top not lighting up. My husband worked and then realized the top was not totally clipped in properly even though it sounded like it was and looked correct. He had to wiggle and adjust and it finally was connected.  I sure hope your problem will be as simple as ours.

Re: need help with lighting the top section of Bethlehem Lights Prism tree.

@newjersey   The newest Bethlehem Lights trees all have power cords, or more probably conduit, running up the inside of the trunk of the tree.  Each section has to plug in to the one below it completely, so that there is physical contact between the metal contacts inside the pole on each end of each section.  It may take some wiggling, turning, and jiggling to get the sections to fully click together.  Also, you might want to make sure there isn't a small piece of styrofoam or other packing material down inside the "cup" of the lower pole.   It could even be a piece of flocking or a piece of artificial "needle" down in there.  I also advise that you unplug the bottom section before you start poking around down inside the pole, just in case.  It is live electricity, after all.

Out of curiosity, how tall a tree did you get, and is it the green version or the flocked?  I ordered the 5' flocked tree, and the flocking was coming off of it in chunks, so I sent it back as defective.  That's why I warned about a chunk of flocking preventing an electrical connection inside your tree's pole.  Good luck, I hope you can get it to work, because it's a really cool tree!

Thanks for the suggestions. @kachina, I'll call BL tomorrow.  I tried all the other suggestions that posters were kind enough to give but top part of tree still doesn't light.  Just wanted to follow up with everyone who took the time to help.

@CamilleP , thanks I tried everything you and others suggested. I'll call BL lights tomorrow. I purchased the BL 5 foot prism tree that doesn't have flocking.
