need help with a decision...

Hi all,

As some of you know my 5 year old Siberian Husky has seizures, IBD and skin problems due to vaccines. His seizures have been well controlled by phenobarbital until recently. I spoke with my Vet this morning and we are upping his evening dose - he has been on a relatively low dose for a few years.

My problem is with my Golden...she attacks him out of fear during a seizure. While this is normal, it is difficult for me to attend to him while at the same time shooing her out of the room. It is not her fault...she has become used to sleeping with hubby and I, so I hate to crate her or send her into one of my sons rooms. She is also a great alarm as to when a seizure is happening, I know we could not sleep through one for sure LOL....but since his seizures are becoming more frequent this could escalate and become dangerous, almost all of his seizures have been during the very early am while we are asleep. My husband is no help during these times - he is very difficult to wake and sleeps through the whole thing.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and how did you deal with it?
