You don’t want to go so don’t go. Your friend will be to busy with her daughter and guests to notice you are not there. Just send a card with your best wishes and let it go at that. 5 times married. My goodness.

Some people love being a bride more than being a wife. If this is the groom's first trip down the aisle...what is he thinking?!

To answer the question, though, yes, I would go if she's a close friend of yours. BTW, I have been to several black tie weddings where many of the men simply wore suits.

I have said this before. If you cannot accept an invitation with the happiness and consideration upon which it was tendered, don't go. Nobody needs your negative juju at their joyful occasion.

Stay home and judge from afar.

@Lakelife62 But there are always things we have to go to that we feel negative about.  We don't have to like it, we just have to act like we do.  That's why my mommie piched me when I was little and started to act out!Woman Frustrated  My momma raised me right.Woman Embarassed

I can fake it with the best of 'em!  Meetings, church, weddings, funerals, work etc.Woman LOL

Sure there are things that you have to attend but don't want to. I get that. A wedding, unless it's your own, is not one of them.

I'm sorry your mom punished by pinching.

@Lakelife62 To me a wedding tops the list. But some you DO have to go to. Woman Frustrated  Mom did me a great favor by pinching me.  I thank her for raising me every day.
