I love a nice looking stamp. I go to the USPS to buy them. Don't like the generic ones from the grocery store.

@VAbelle wrote:I just purchased the latest Elvis stamp "series of Music Icons" .... it is black & white, very large--will use to pay bills. However, the new flowers series will be perfect for birthday, sympathy, and anniversary cards--someone at the USPS finally designed something I won't mind spending 49 cents for!
Sadly, for this Christmas season, the USPS will not be issuing any "religious" stamps (e.g. Madonna & child, wisemen). Apparently this branch of the government does not want to "offend" anyone.
Interesting- I hadn't heard the news about no religious stamp this year. They've had one forever. That's too bad.

here is a new one coming summer 2016.
This summer, the famous Assateague Island ponies will be featured on a Forever stamp as part of a new series of stamps celebrating the National Park Service.

Very pretty! There are few new ones that I'm going to order, but I'm waiting for the price of postage to go down, which I think is next week.

I hadn't heard anything about the USPS not issuing religious holiday stamps. I went to Snopes and found an article that says that is not the situation. Apparently, they did not issue a new religious stamp design in 2015 because they have an abundant supply of existing designs.

@gidgetgh Thanks for bringing to my attention. I didn't even notice that.

Some of my favorite stamps were those of noted modern artists. They were huge. So striking , and wonderful to see on an envelope. Many people actully called me to ask about them! JMHO
