Yes, that's why the KY senator put a hold on it in the first place. That organization controls WAY too much in this country. But even if the D's all voted for it, they still don't have enough to overcome the cloture.

Re: memo on senatorial hold/Surgeon General

I only WISH our politicians, both sides . . . had the strength and integrity to stand up for their and their constituents beliefs and BEST interests no matter what the date of the next election was.

Vote their conscience and let the chips fall where they may . . . I say!!! But hey they aren't listening . . . obviously~!!!!

But . . . they are for the most part Bought & Paid For. Stamp a big ole SOLD To The Highest Bidder on their foreheads!!!

I can't name a one that would stand up and let their vote be counted regardless of the "next" election. From. Either. Side.

I wish I didn't have to because it's really sad, but I do agree with pretty much everything you've said. I might could name a few that I think would stand up, but that would just be my opinion. Way too many elections are controlled by big money... and I think the Supreme Court made one of the biggest mistakes ever when they let Citizens United stand. This is not what our country is about. "Of the people, by the people, and for the people" -- where did all that go?

Re: memo on senatorial hold/Surgeon General

I know. I feel very bad that I feel that way now. But I just don't see any true blue politicians anymore. It is all a big political game/battle for them. Boils down to ONE thing.

POWER.

It takes them over.

They may go into it with honesty and integrity.

But it is too strong for them.

Like a drug.

Or something?

Whether it be money, women, power, prestige . . . they have lost touch with We The People . . . in my humble opinion. And I say that about BOTH sides. I don't think one is better than the other when it comes down to honesty and integrity . . . they've both LOST it.

I don't respect them anymore.

And I sure as heck don't TRUST them either.

I'll admit to trusting one side more than the other (big surprise huh?) but basically I agree. What has happened to an individual having principles and standing by them? Too much big money, too many terms in office.

They were very unhappy that he wanted to sponsor research into the current nature of gun violence in the USA. Studies have been ILLEGAL for years...the last data we have is from the 90s.
