I add a bit of Borax to my wash, as a booster.
No scent, so to speak, and it might be a 'salt' product.
I'm too lazy to go downstairs to check it out.

Like you, I don't want take the time. I didn't see salt listed in the ingredients, and I not concerned with how many derivatives definitions mean salt.
In my last 3 blood tests, the last in later March! My sodium level is low, Many doctors consider when too much is salt consumed, it oft times might cause a rise in one's blood pressure. Nothing to do with laundry soap, just throwing that in. =^..^=

@gardenman does this also mean sea water? Save me from my not so friendly friend Google lol.

@hckynutjohn I've always wanted to try Nellie's laundry soap for many years but never did. Finally found someone who is using it. Has anything changed about it over the years? Now I'm thinking about getting it because my sister
is looking for something that's natural. Would you recommend this for her?
Thanks.

Yes I would. She might try a small size first and see what she thinks. It took a couple cycles to get all the residue out of some of our more dense clothes.
With Nellie's, very little is used in each wash, and it gets everything just as clean, without the residue, of all the major brands we have used. I can actually feel the difference in things like my cotton shirts, and even moreso with my wife's sheets and pillow cases.
Just something about the feel of them that I noticed years ago when we still had our other brands to compare them with after the wash/rinse cycle. I even did a 2nd rinse cycle with the other brands to see how much was still left after the 1 wash/rinse cycle. The water still had suds and not clean water when I opened it before it went into the spin cycle. Not so with the Nellie's.
Glad I got the $49.99 price locked in for it. A bucket lasts us way over a year, and my wife even takes it on some of her longer Pet Sitting jobs, and leaves what she doesn't use. She of course tells her clients what she left in case they want to give it a shot.

@hckynutjohn I was watching all that time when it was that price. I'll go over to HSN and check it out again. Thank you very much.

I would assume seawater would work. A long, long time ago a nurse told me about the cold water and salt trick for bloodstains. I've used it and it works for me. Seawater would have the salt already added. If there's a significant amount of blood you're washing out, you might want to be sure to stay in shallow water as sharks are rather drawn to the scent of blood.

@Sage04 Definitely have your sister try Nellies. They recommend washing a load of rags with it the first time to remove residue from your machine. It's very good and cuts down on fading. Clothes are soft and residue free. The hardest thing is using so little. I'm talking about a tablespoon for a large load. You will not see suds, but it is cleaning. It's just different after using commericial laundry soap. If she likes it and wants a large container and HSN is out, have her try Costco online. They usually have the large one.

Hydrogine Peroxide removes blood stains, but you need to put it on before blood has been washed. It can be dried in. We used it all the time for my granddaughters nose bleeds. I learned this in the hospital years ago. Apply, let totally fizz up, blot ever so gently, keep doing until removed. Themn wash
