Didn't read the whole thing, it was very long, but the part I read was very nice.  Thanks.

I think that's accurate.

@Jamma I love what you said.It works too as I use it all of the time on people that are mean and rude. They don’t know what to make of it...I get a inner giggle. One lady told me that I was impossible to fight with and she had been trying LOL.

These reminders are so necessary and important, most especially on social media.  The universal problem of rudeness and cruelty on social media has been among the most destructive and persistent.  For years now, (decades?) it has resisted efforts to modify.

The bottom line is, in face to face situations, people are rarely as uncivil and unkind as they are quite happy to be in cyber space.  There are too many sanctions against "tantrum-y" behavior in face-to-face interactions.  Although there are always a few who will behave this way, there is still a fairly strong social stigma attached to lack of self-control when conversing with others in "real life".

Two things would vastly improve, if not wipe out, the problem.  If organizations on the net established that anonymity in discussions is no longer a given, and if moderation would relentlessly purge posts of those who violate civil social norms, some kind of more normal and healthy environment could exist, I believe.

It's sad and dispiriting that we've come to almost expect "snark".  Or worse, seemingly mild-mannered people who go from zero to "rage", even upon just encountering people who don't see things the way they do.  We're all individuals and we have to see others as full human beings whether we agree with them or not, is my belief.
