jim nabors has passed away at the age of 87.

i am sure many remember him from the andy griffith show and gomer pyle usmc. he also had a beautiful rich voice.

may he rest in peace.

Am so sorry to hear that he passed. I have lots of good memories of watching him on TV shows - Andy's and Carol Burnett's!! He did have a beautiful voice. Thoughts of peace and comfort to his family.....

Nooooooo!!!!! So sad....so very sad to hear this. My Daddy LOVED his voice. I remember the first time I heard him sing when he played Gomer Pyle opn the Andy Griffith's Show. My Daddy told me the story how EVERYONE was shocked to find out that this man had such an amazing voice though he played a goofy/loveable character.

My uncle on my Daddys' side was a dead ringer for Jim Nabors both in looks and how he spoke as Gomer Pyle; have a photo of the two of them in Marine uniform except Uncle Frank was wearing the real deal, lol.

RIP, Mr. Nabors....you will be missed.

Apart from his stunningly rich voice, he created a timeless comic character in the form of "Gomer"-- a rural innocent, and lovable eternal optismist, providing a perfect foil for the more "layered" characters around him.

Just thinking about him makes me smile. RIP.
