Re: in rereading some of the posts on here, question is about survival.

What I have done this year is become somewhat selfish.  I have always tried to put everyone before me, but now, I workout almost every day, get a massage once a month, and belong to a cooking and supper club.  If it makes me happy, I try to do it.  I read every day, do different kinds of puzzles, and play with the dogs.  If I don't feel like doing something, or if I don't want to do something, then I don't.

I believe that we are responsible for our own happiness and that, in turn, helps us to survive.  I wish that I realized this a long time ago.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

That is not being selfish; it is simply taking care of yourself. If we don't take care of ourselves we really can't be much help to others.

I try to remember everything changes. We can't "hold on" to anything.  We come here empty handed and we'll leave empy handed. Grasping is a waste of precious time.

I think it would depend on the situation. At times we have to accept things at our jobs, and just back off no matter what we personally think of it.

Never accept that which is evil or hurts others.  There is always a way to push back.

At the same time, cocooning.  Wrap love around your family and yourself.  Make your home a place of sanctuary for those you love, including your pets.  Make your food healthy and tasty, do what you can to sleep well, take walks, read.  Remind others that you love them.

Hmmmmm.....all my needs are met for survival.   The rest is just going with the flow, being brave when necessary, and having gratitude every day for everything.

One of my faults is trying to change people in my life,  circumstances, thinking , actions of others, i can't do this any longer,  i have to accept what is.

Don't agree, look at all the evil that happens in our world.
