Re: how to keep flowers in pot

Try a sedum or other plant that tolerates hot sun and doesn't need daily watering.

All I can suggest is to use an oversized pot, potting soil that maintains moisture and be sure the flowers/ plants you choose are suggested for full sun and drought tolerant.

Can you plant your flowers directly into the ground?  They won't dry out as readily if planted in the ground.

@goldensrbest  I have not tried this yet, but maybe someone can attest to its usefulness.  A while back I read a tip to line flower pots with disposable diapers before filling them with potting soil.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

Use bigger pots and line them with diapers or sponges.

I use these watering bulbs in some of my houseplants and they work well, but they don't work very long outside; they can't release enough water to keep the soil in the pot from drying out

Sounds as though you are fighting a losing battle !  Why not try the silk flower approach.  You may have to change them once a season.
