Re: holiday party season 2025

Sounds like a lovely time for all!  Both of my parents are long gone so no more aides, etc.

I injured myself last Saturday with a sprain of some kind on my upper right rib area.  My house is a mess and it's hard to bend, reach, etc. to get anything done.  Originally I was planning on having 15 or so people for Christmas but I am starting to rethink my plans.

We were going to go to DD's house for Christmas breakfast and have the kids open gifts and have the crowd come later for dinner.  Now I am thinking maybe just bring some food and go back to her house later in the day and let my sister and brother in law know that I can't do Christmas this year.....I hope to know and let them know what I'm doing soon.  This is frustrating!

We're not party people either. In fact we look for excuses not to go. Frankly I would rather be home doing laundry than going to a party. I used to hate my husbands work parties every year. They always seemed to be on the other side of town which was an hour drive one way and I rarely knew many of the people there. Don't miss getting dressed up either. We're happy to stay at home with the kitties and have our own party.

Re: holiday party season 2025

We only go to two events...our Sunday School Class Christmas party, and my brother's house for a big family Christmas breakfast. Both are full of fun, fellowship and great food--to which we contribute.

Both events are casual, which suits us perfectly. The last event will be the Saturday before Christmas, and then we will have a nice, peaceful rest of the season at home.

@sunshine45   What a great gesture for the celebration!  I'm sure they were very appreciative.  How very kind of you.

We will go to a candlelight dinner Saturday at my dads independent living home.  It's always a nice event.  We will spend the afternoon of Christmas Eve with him, too.  They can invite two guests.

I have lunch planned with a few friends Christmas week, and the following week.  We no longer really entertain, but will enjoy our few events.

Love hearing of others celebrations.

@Jacie  Sounds like great fun!  Glad you enjoyed! 🎄🥂🍾. Jingle Mingle, how cute!

@haddon9  I hope you get feeling better soon!
