The Sears in my nearest mall seems to be doing pretty well. I feel as if I am in a time-warp when walking through (to LensCrafters, my eyeglass store). But it seems quite busy and on the rare occasions I am buying an appliance I always check it out. I find the staff are knowledgable and the values and selection are very good.

Nordstrom Rack I have only been to once, and it's like the outlet stores for Nordies and Saks--special purchase items that (to me) are brought in cheap and marked way up.

On a sale at Nordies, I can get high quality clothing. At the Rack, I will get cheap clothing marked up to what a sale price at Nordie's would be. Again, I was only there once and who knows if the manager of that store was a good one. But to me, it was like JC Penney's merchandise marked up about 30%. (And I am not dissing JC Penney's, just trying to give an idea of the Rack. I don't like the weird Penney's that is evolving these days but I used to shop there quite often.)
