Perhaps not new to some of you but want to recommend a wonderful read - "AT HOME IN MITFORD", the first book in Jan Karon's Mitford series. The book revolves around a 60 yr old Episcopal priest and the small town community he serves. Karon builds spirituality into the plot but could be any priest, minister, or rabbi who shows love to his/her congregation. You fall in love with the book's many characters from the stray dog, Barnibas who melts Father Tim's heart, to the lonely waif, Dooley Barlow, who turns Father's life upside down, to his blossoming romance with next door neighbor Cynthia. I fell into the series when checking the NYT best seller list. If you are a romantic at heart (male or female), love to curl up with an uncomplicated warm feeling plot, and enjoy character development this is the book for you. There are parts where you can't help but roar out with laughter and others where you gasp with concerm. Reminds me of the populat BBC series - Ballykissangel - now playing on many PBS stations. You just become part of the community. Highly recommended!
