Very much agree!! Disloyal and disrespectful. Dumb marketing, too.
I get free shipping from other retailers. I'll check them out first before buying Christmas gifts.

@mollymaggie I am done. I will buy nothing else here.

Reminds me of my cable company. Frequently run promos for valuable pricing for "new customers only". Drives me crazy that my cable bills go up and up over the many years I stay with them and new customers come in with a deep discount.
Dumb policy.
Penalize loyalty and reward only new customers, who may just leave quickly?
Annoying bad judgment from QVC.

I commented on another thread about this and I am so ticked off that I will comment again here. I have been a QVC customer for over 30 years. A slap in the face is what this is. Seems that they really think that it is worth alienating many customers that spend a lot here in order just to pick up a few more who will probably shop elsewhere anyway after the holiday season.

Since loyalty doesn't count with QVC I will do shopping elsewhere and support my local merchants. Small independent shops are having a hard time finding employees and staying in business.
I won't need to return purchases and can include gift receipts with Christmas gifts.
I can see the merchandise and look for damages before purchasing. Local stores are full of decorations, clothing, food and gifts.
I'm going shopping tomorrow at Kohls with a 40% discount and $10 credit!

Most of those that start a business know the best route for them is to increase their base. What better way to do that than to offer a deep discount upfront.
I used to subscribe to many magazines. Most of them were for a 12 month subscription. They always reminded me when my subscription expired, and had the postage free card to fill out inside the last 2 or 3 magazines.
I go to any store that sold those magazines, even my doctors offices. Inside there were always at least 1 card attached to the center, for New Subscribers. Always for at least a few $$ less. No such cards in my magazines.
More than a couple times I would let mine expire, I would tear that card out of a magazine at my doctors, and send it in as a new subscriber.
Many cable subscribers threaten to quit, but it sometimes is a long process. That is if they want to replace it with another service. Add up your time doing that, and much of the time, spent trying to figure out a new system. Some don't find their time/$$ equation to be worth it.
As far as buying here? My wife might, but I haven't bought any product here in well over 20 years. Any chances of me doing so are pretty slim.

And another thing.... If QVC thinks that long time customers are old and will fade away soon, they are wrong about that. I said that I have shopped here more than 30 years, that's true. I started young and I believe that I have plenty of good years left. And I don't have student loans, a mortgage, rent, no car payment. I am not rich, but I do have a little money to buy stuff because of my lack of debt. Not sure that the same can be said for new customers.

Shep Hyken, customer service and experience expert.
Isn’t my loyalty worth something? I would think my loyalty would be an incentive to give me a better deal, versus giving a better deal to a customer they have never done business with before. But, apparently, that’s not the case with some companies.
When advertising and promoting to new customers, consider the message you are sending to existing customers. All customers should be treated equally as far as customer service is concerned. All should be made to feel special. But, when it comes to the deal, you might consider treating your existing customers, the ones that have shown you their loyalty, a little better.
