@panda1234. That restaurant could have gotten in big big trouble for both of those infractions.
You are so right about that @proudlyfromNJ. Another thing that sticks in my mind is never go out to eat close to closing time. Someone did and ordered veal oscar. The cook had already put the hollandaise sauce need for this in the trash and oh yes he scooped it out and it went on the plate.
@panda1234 had some sketchy experiences at a Sheraton. there was an annual 3 day conference that my work held every year. i worked a booth and always brought my own food after the first year, because one time i was served undercooked chicken w blood pooling and my boss order Ahi Tuna that was rotting. There was no way you could mistake the odor of that tuna It was late in the day too. Another time there were box lunches being prepared by a handful of kitchen staff for hundreds of attendees in a 90 degree room off the kitchen. dozens of attendees got food poisoning from their lunches. then one time the plumbing backed up into a large conference room, soaking the carpet with...yup. The room should have been immediately evacuated. My boss was po'd because I walked out. Hazardous waste.
Speaking of carpet@miimosa another Sheraton story. There was a large wedding going on. Roast beef with gravy was the entree. There was a threshold the cart carring the food had to go over. This cart had about 20 shelves with maybe 6 plates on each shelf. It didn't take the bump well and the plates flew. They just scooped up the roast beef added more gravy and on they went.
gag... carpet fuzzies! didn't the wedding guests notice? ...must be something about that hotel chain. they used to leave the room service trays in the halls for days. from reviews i read, it still happens, they changed to a Hilton but the same issues exist.

Thanksgiving 2015, we went to Waffle House. Yes, Waffle House. My dad was recovering from a brain bleed and had moved to assisted living. I asked him what he’d like for Thanksgiving and he said Waffle House, so that’s what we did. And it was one of my most favorite Thanksgivings ever. Place was packed. Everyone was in a terrific mood. Someone paid for our lunch so we paid for someone else. Waitress said people had been doing that all morning. It was a great time.

We went to Plimouth Plantation one year and had a pilgrim Thanksgiving dinner served by pilgrim servers. Interesting meal.

@Weebles- Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving out today. There's nothing wrong with going out for Thanksgiving! No mess to clean up and you still celebrate it with those you love.
When I lived on the Gulf Coast, we went out a few times on a holiday at the local casinos where we ate like kings. Casinos sure know how to celebrate a holiday meal.
Have fun today!

@CatsyCline Yes, carpet lint......yuck. We are really on their case today, all from a simple post about eating out.
We stayed at a Hilton in upper New Jersery and it was run down.

Overall, I like the idea of going out and letting someone else do all the work, and I'd try it again if there were some good restaurants around here.

@panda1234 Really? Sorry? You knew you were raining on people's parades today. How could you not?

@Weebles, for quite a few years, we went to a buffet for Thanksgiving dinner. The first time we went, we ran into the cooking instructor where I taught. I always felt that if it was good enough for him, and it was absolutely delicious, that it was fine for us.
Now, I just prefer to eat at home. But, DH still always talks about going out for dinner.
