I have facebook. I am not very active on it. It is maily to communicate with TWO friends who live far away. A friend asked me if i had fb, and she wanted to friend me. WELL SHOOT. Although she has a full time job, she does have time to post multiple pics, jokes and basically everything under the sun. I don't care about seeing it all. It clogs up my fb. I just want to see the stuff the other two post.
Sorry if i sound rude, i am just keeping it real. Is there a way without unfriending this person, to adjust the settings where i don't see every dang thing she posts?
TIA
Im really not as crabby as this sounds in real life...

You don't have to unfriend her. You can block her posts from appearing in your news feed. I haven't done this in a while, but I think you go to your settings to do this.

Yes, you can unfriend her and also block her. If you just unfriend her, she can still see your page, but if you block her , she won't see anything. If you go to her page and look up where it says friends. It is on the left side of her big picture. click on that and you will see option to unfriend her. If you want to also block her let me know and I will try to talk you through that. Good luck!

Will she know she is blocked?
Thank ya'll for the quick response.

@happycat, I had to do this myself with a couple of people who post up the kazoo on FB with bizarre things, so I know what you mean since I had to change settings on certain individuals too.
You have to do 2 things (I'm giving instructions as though you are logging on a PC/Laptop. I think doing it thru the app might be slightly different)..
When you're on computer, log in and go to her page. First, under where it says "Friends" heading on her page, click the drop down menu and UNcheck "Get Notifications". This way so you won't get a notice every time she posts something.
Secondly, under the "Following" heading next to it, click the drop down menu there and check next to "Unfollow (name)". Doing this you still will remain friends, but this will remove all her posts from being displayed in your scrolling newsfeed and she will never know you did that.
Then you can periodically visit her page directly on your own terms and whenever you feel like it if you want to catch up on her posts. But at least you won't be exposed to the barage of her posts every day anymore by changing those 2 individual settings.

Yep if you block her, it automatically unfriends her too! Then when she tries to search for your name again after realizing your not on her friends list anymore, she won't be able to find you either. Block is what it means!. That was a bad suggestion up there someone else had made because it didn't sound like you had wanted to block her and unfriend her? You just dont want her posts shoved in your face (newsfeed) all the time I'm gathering?. Read my earlier reply / suggestions to see if that helps.

You can also put your other two friends in another category such as "close friends", this way you have the option of only their posts to read.

Hi, @happycat,
This is what I do. (And by the way, you don't seem rude)
I go to one of the posts that is showing up on my wall. There is a little down arrow to the top right of the post. It may be hard to see, it is to the right, on the same line as the name of your friend.
When you click on the down arrow on the post, a box pops up. The first line in the box says "hide post"--that is not the one you want. The 2nd line says "Unfollow Mary", which is your friend's name in this example, haha. Under Unfollow Mary, in light small lettering it explains further: "Stop seeing posts but remain friends". So, you should click on "Unfollow Mary"
Hope this helps!

Thank you all for the indepth instructions. I have the same issue with someone I would like to keep as a friend, but am weary of a lot of the political things she is posting and would just like to avoid seeing her posts until after the election.

You want to keep her as your friend but unfollow her posts.
