I am happy for you that you are so pleased with the results {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} I have had Radiesse (in my marionette lines) and it is wonderful, and yes it does last a year. That said....after you drop $600+ a year on fillers you may want to consider having your eyes done top and bottom. It is an easy surgery and the results last 10+ years, and many enjoy the results longer than that. I am thrilled that I did it 5 yrs. ago and they look just as good now.

Is it pricey, I know it depends on a lot of factors.

I can't find my statement, but I think it was $5500 for both top and bottom. Might be a little more now...but then maybe not since it is done so much now. I know it sounds like a lot, but if you amortize that over 7-10 yrs. it is a lot less than years of injectables and your eyes look wonderful. All I do is moisturize. The key is to have it done by a Board certified plastic surgeon. Don't have it done by an eye doc.

His statement is not entirely correct. Blepharoplasty which is what I referred to in my previous post is plastic surgery to remove the fat pads under the eyes. It's the abnormal amount of fat there that causes the bulge.

Blepharoplasty may not have been indicated for you in particular because it's not the best solution for every person. The doctor will be able to tell if he were to surgically remove those fat pads whether that would leave a large dark hollow in the area rather than a ""normal"" looking flattened appearance. That's probably why your doctor felt that fillers were the answer for you.

They say Preparation H works really well by shrinking the tissue. Has anyone tried that?

Oh that would be cheaper! lol{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

The formula made in the US no longer has the ingredient that effectively "shrinks tissues" Some think the Canadian formula is still effective .

Thanks, Azcowgirl! Smile

the eye bags are not directly under my eyes---I think it's called ""malar?"" area---not even a face lift will correct this ---apparently it's hereditary---I will spend for the filler--I'm old and I still want to try to look ok

You sound like such a neat person, not old at all, I love people who never give up on themselves.

I had blefs, upper and lower, both eyes and have been very pleased with the results. I was one of those born with baggy eyes. Even had teachers over the years telling me I wasn't getting enough sleep, etc., which only made me cry.

Finally, in the autumn of 2001 I had it done by a plastic surgeon that I knew personally and was very fortunate because we had worked professionally together in research, so he said he was going to give me the professional discount. I really didn't believe him until the day of the surgery when I had to hand over my credit card. Great guy and great surgery. I had no swelling, but had to wear sun glasses for 2 weeks. Everyone at the hospital wondered what the heck?

I'm glad things worked out for you. Isn't it great?!?
