Re: electric bikes and electric scooters

Just today I saw a guy on an electric scooter, no helmet, zipping through the parking lot near my grocery store; he was going fast and went over two speed bumps like they weren't even there. I was horrified he kept going behind a row of parked cars, not knowing if any of them were backing out; one barely missed him.

I don't see many of them where I live but do see the e-bikes quite a bit....we have a bike helmet requirement here but have never seen anyone on an e-bike wearing one. Seems you would need one more on one of them than a regular bike since they go so much faster.

I hope everyone who is enjoying theirs stays safe. The batteries are a concern but hopefully they are improving or resolving whatever is causing the fires and explosions.

Re: electric bikes and electric scooters

i can imagine how much trouble the ebikes at school would be. I taught just before they became popular. Our neighbor just bought one for their 13 year-old son and paid $4k for it. I know he will ditch it as soon as he gets his permit to drive a car.
