I always head to the Dollar Tree first. Where else can you find things for $1??? I suppose now that this merger is happening, this will change. Every time you get some place where you can actually save a few dollars, something happens. When you get to be older and your income is limited, every dollar counts. I don't think Family Dollar and the other similar places have nearly as good prices.

i love dollar tree! we recently got a bigger one and then of course we have half a dozen more in any given direction. i love that they now take coupons - Lime-A-Way toilet bowl cleaner is something i MUST have because living with 4 guys i have found is tough on a bathroom! even when you have several! they had the Lime-A-Way and i had coupons for $.50 off! i got enough to put a few bottles in each bathroom so i am good to go until at least fall now!

I like browsing the Dollar Tree, especially for cards and stuff for kids. I have never been in a Family Dollar store, but from what I have heard, not everything is a $1 like the Dollar Tree!

I buy cards, gift bags and tissue frequently at Dollar Tree. Recently I learned from my 4 year old granddaughter, they sell the same cards every year. I didn't know my Grands saved their cards. She informed me the Christmas card I gave her this year, I gave to her sisters previous Christmases. Turns out I gave all 3 girls the same 4 year old card, too.

boy lulu2, that is some petty stuff to inform people of. they should be happy they got a stamped envelope in the mail, instead of an email or tweet. sheesh. some people!

Thank you for pointing out how ungrateful my 4 year old grand daughter is.

Note to self, keep petty stuff off these forums.

That's cute. I am amazed at what my grandkids notice. Nothing gets passed mine either. It took me a while to realize that some of the greeting cards at DT are repeated every year.

I thought it was pretty observant when my GD pointed it out. I didn't realize the girls save all their cards then periodically take them out and play You've Got Mail.
